Overview:
ForPurposeCo. is a sustainable, socially focused, profit-generating business with people, planet, and purpose to increase funding for OzHarvest. They hope to optimize the donor’s journey to drive more donations and decrease food waste.
My Role:
In a team of three, my role involved in all stages, while I took the lead on flashing out the Medium-term solution and my focus was on ideation of concepts, sketches, prototype, UI design.

The Problem:
The main goal of this project is to generate revenue for OzHarvest.OzHarvest needs a way to easily provide relevant information on food wastage reduction to its users to increase their revenue generation. First, by educating individuals to reduce waste. Second, by encouraging people to donate for the OzHarvest. mission. As a result, we need a profitable solution that provides relevant info for users on food wastage reduction.
The Solution:
During the two week period we needed to do a lot of research but ultimately it allowed us to come up with three-part strategies solution as our recommendation.
- Short-term (Events): A way to connect users to OzHarvest. in a format that is conversational and engaging.
- Medium-term (Donation): Give users a faster more intuitive way to help OzHarvest and their recipients.
- Long-term (Crowdfunding): Give users a voice and way to engage in the development of innovations within the social environments and encourage people to build their own solution.
Finally, we came up with a digital solution, an app, which brings these three approaches together in a user-friendly flow.

Process
We spent most of our two weeks time on the primary research phase. This included business analysis and user interviews and surveys. This process made it clear what are the need of the business and users. Then, based on our hypothesis we defined the initial concept which later was used for ideation and prototyping.
The strategies: 1- Events, 2- Donation food and 3- Crowdfunding
Results & Reflections
The challenge in this design was the educational aspect of an app while providing various features to change people’s behavior implicitly on the app. In addition, creating trust and transparency were important goals from our synthesis research.
